Might as well document what we've done so far, still a ways to go yet before we are happy with it.

I find sometimes the smaller rooms are more frustrating than big rooms for building...

I set the angle for functionality, not ease of design, that was the first mistake, lol
Here's a few more pictures the wife was able to dig up for me of the build. Drywall and planning how big I can go with the TV before the ceiling becomes an issue!

Thought I might have more, but this is everything up to the current state. Fish room needs alot of work, but moving the sump from under the tank to where it is was definitely the right choice.

Looks great. Makes me laugh though, how innovative we become when we're trying to find space to set up a fish tank. I know I'm lucky to have more space to putz than many, but you all know that it's never enough. I just installed a 4*2*1 frag tank and had to move my quarantine tanks to the furnace room in the back. Kept it hidden from my wife for about 2 months until last weekend when she went looking for something back there (I knew I should've locked it!) and boy did she freak out. Oh well, she is getting the kitchen she's always wanted....

SOunds like a good idea for a new thread. I don't know how to use those design programs but I'll draw up some sketches to share of the layout of my fish room. I shudder when I think abotu someone needing to service anything back there lol

Lol, yeah, never enough room. I thought my space under the stairs would be plenty, now I'm looking for more space for a quantine tank or fuge

Just a quick update after "6 months" (tank was established for about a year beforehand, but with few corals)

Coming along nicely. Needs a few more fish, and maybe more sps? But happy with it so far

Tek light - 8 lamp. Have a single reef brite for some added punch at dusk/dawn. Not thrilled with my light combination yet, but can try fixing that at next bulb swap. Its a little painful buying bulbs just to realized you wanted it more blue, lol
