If anyone has a protein skimmer they'd like to sell suitable for a approximately 85 gallon tank let me know the skimmer I have is definitely too big for my tank it is rated for 500 to 1200 l and it is an external recirculating skimmer I could possibly trade it if someone's looking for something like that it is a skimz e series sm 162

Yea that might be a little oversized it's probably spending most of the time shot off

Just getting it tuned is proving to be a challenge. But from what I remember skimmers are always a bit of a pain in the ass for the first couple days

Until they get a slime coat in them... but your skimmer is so oversized (Going by the numbers you put up anyways) that even a season veteran would have a hard time tuning it

It definitely is bigger down the road I would like to get a much larger sump which would obviously help to get me in the zone anyway

That's definitely awesome and a fair deal however I think my new sump is eight and a half inches at most in the skimmer section I think that skimmer requires 9 and 1/2 to 11

I’m not 100% sure the footprint but if you looked up the specs your probably right
