Yesterday was a tough day, I woke up to find my Longnose Hawkfish on the floor with my lid still on the aquarium, RIP. My lid was place having a slight angle near the back of the tank, caused by aftermarket clip from the “intank surface skimmer water risers” to raise the water level in my lagoon tank. This caused a SLIGHT gap.
Now knowing removing the clips and using two zip ties per side would achieve holding the raiser plates in place while allowing the lid to sit flush and tight, was tough to realize something so simple could have saved my beloved Hawk fish.
For anyone who risks the lid or thinks a slight gap won’t matter, be warned and don’t lose your pet
