So in the past few weeks I made some modifications to my sump area to allow for a frag tank and to give a home to my new Peacock Mantis.
well everything went well for the first little while until I fed my Mantis a snail, the Mantis ignored the snail and it was left to wonder around his tank until it decided to venture into the return pipe.
So water backed up and over flowed the tank, and... I flooded the floor, this was the first time (since my rearrangement) so the remedy was some plastic gutter guard rolled up in the over flow to stop any critters from venturing into that section again, as a secondary precaution I added a float switch so if the over flow section fills it shuts off the pump feeding the tank.
A couple weeks go by and everything is working well until last Sunday afternoon, then the frag tank starts to leak, fortunately I was home and about to do a water change only about 2 gallons on water on the floor. Time to tear down and dry the shelf wall floor etc, also time to replace the laminate flooring which now very soggy and when dry cupping from the swelling. This was a job I had planned to do so I had the Vinyl flooring already on hand.
Purchased so Weld on 16 and resealed the frag tank, removed the old flooring and replaced.
